About you:

The post holder will require a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning, as well as horticultural qualifications or equivalent experiential learning. 

Recent experience in all aspects of amenity horticulture, sound plant identification skills and environmental awareness are essential. 

You must hold a driving licence (with no more than 3 penalty points and no unspent record of disqualification) and be able to work in all weathers, physically fit and healthy in compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations, and willingness to undergo appropriate health surveillance.

About the role:

We are recruiting for a part time Buildings Cleaner to provide a high-quality cleaning service to our buildings; cleaning both internally and externally as required using equipment provided. The role is based at our Preston campus. 

This is a fixed term contract to cover parental leave until September 2027 or earlier; dependent on the return of the substantive postholder.

About the role:

This is a pivotal role within the Facilities team at the university, leading our frontline facilities service and playing an integral role in improving the customer experience.  The postholder will provide leadership and strategic management of all internal operational facilities services across the University’s Preston Campus, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of all soft FM services by ensuring that internal facilities operations support strategic plans and student experience.  They will act as part of the FM leadership team and act as a principal link between Internal Operations and other key services to ensure that the estate is maintained to the high standards

About you:

The successful candidate will have facilities management experience along with a positive and proactive approach to challenges. They will have strong people management skills and the personal drive to support the team with the aim of always striving to enhance the student experience and service delivery. Experience in a senior facilities or operational role providing excellent customer service in a busy and varied environment is essential as is experience of managing the delivery of all FM operations within a university environment including residential/living accommodation. 

You will have attained or be working towards a NEBOSH General certification or have proven knowledge and experience in statutory Health and Safety, compliance and risk management. You will also have an NVQ Level 5 qualification in FM (or be working towards) or equivalent experiential learning.
