About the role:

We are looking for a strong leader to provide leadership and direction of the Student Casework function at the University of Lancashire. The role of Deputy Head, Student Casework within the Academic Registry will lead the development, promotion and implementation of policies and procedures relating to Student Complaints, Student Disciplinaries, Fitness to Practice, Academic Misconduct and Appeals.

The postholder will provide leadership of the student casework function, providing expert advice and guidance to senior colleagues and Investigating Officers across the University, and promote a culture of learning from case findings and outcomes to enhance the student experience. As a member of the Academic Registry, reporting to the Director of Student Casework and Placement Learning, you will work closely with other professional services managers and academic leaders to deliver service excellence and deliver organisational change.

About you:

You will need to be practical with a keen interest in animal sciences, be IT literate and have a working knowledge of veterinary equipment, supported by great customer service skills. About the role:

Based primarily at the University Sports Arena, the role focuses on professional sports surface maintenance. You will supervise and support a small team on a day‑to‑day basis, while also taking an active role in delivering high‑quality sports services. You will be responsible for maintaining areas including  natural turf, artificial sports surfaces, amenity areas and woodland.

On occasion you may be required to support our main campus and provide cover during periods of annual leave.

About you:

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working on playing surfaces specific to winter sports and familiarity with risk assessments and health and safety procedures, along with excellent knowledge of Sports Turf Management.

About the role:

Working with the Performance Sports Manager and key sports staff, the Badminton Sports Coach will provide leadership to drive the development of a high-performance sport culture at the University.

The successful candidate will be expected to take training, select the squad and oversee match day preparation and performance across the course of the season.  Goals will be set in conjunction with the Performance Sport Manager.  

This role will require 4 hours per week; evening working and the ability to travel to fixtures with the team will be expected.  Training is currently one evening per week, with fixtures at the weekend; but this may be subject to change.

About you:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the university and have an impact on our ambitious sports strategy.  It is essential that the individual is appropriately qualified with a minimum of an up-to-date Level 2 coaching award as well as having experience of coaching in a performance sport environment. About the Role

Join an exciting and impactful neuro-oncology research programme dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with brain cancer.

Based within the Neuro-oncology Research Group, part of the Biomedical Evidence-based Transdisciplinary Health Research Institute, you will contribute to a collaborative network of researchers, universities and NHS partners across the region. Together, we are working to advance the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of brain tumours through innovative translational research.

The primary focus of this role is the establishment and characterisation of short-term cell cultures derived from patient brain tumour biopsies. You will gain hands-on experience using a range of laboratory techniques, including:

Immunohistochemistry

Western blotting

Fluorescence microscopy

Microplate-based assays

Cell culture techniques

This is a unique opportunity to develop your research skills in a clinically relevant area while contributing directly to research that has the potential to benefit patients and their families.

Alongside your research role, you will be expected to undertake a part-time Master's by Research degree over two years (typically two days per week), allowing you to gain a postgraduate qualification while building valuable research experience.

Both the position and the Master's tuition fees are generously funded by the Sydney Driscoll Neuroscience Foundation, supporting the important work of the Brain Tumour North West Tissue Bank.

About You
